DC Wax Museum Adds Harriet Tubman to Collection
Harriet Tubaman’s descendants and many other assembled during the unveiling of the wax statue in Washington D.C. In honor of Black History Month, the museum added Tubman to the collection of abolitionist, presidents, and people who have made an impact in history.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Tubman’s great-great-great-grand-nephew, Charles E.T. Ross and Tubman’s great-great-grand-niece Valery Ross visited the wax museum to commemorate this statue as well as Harriet Tubman Elementary School in Washington, D.C.
Tubman was born a slave in Maryland and ultimately became an abolitionist and trailblazer for the Underground Railroad for thousands of slaves to reach freedom, after she escaped in 1849.
