A Message From Trayvon Martin’s Mother Fulton For Mother’s Day
Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon Martin’s mom, released a video asking parents nationwide to support the Second Chance campaign, a new national campaign working to reform, repeal and prevent passage of new Florida-style “Shoot First” laws around the country.
The Second Chance campaign launched after Martin’s death with the NAACP, the National Urban League, the National Action Network, Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, VoteVetsand New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to oppose reckless Shoot First laws that are on the books of 26 states and pending in 10 more.

Kirk Franklin’s “The Kings Men” Gospel Tour
Live Nation presents a quartet tour that will consists of renowned gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Donnie McClurklin, and Israel Houghton. This will be the first time this quartet will have toured together.
“In the Gospel world, this is like Springsteen, McCartney, Prince and Elton hitting the road together,” said Kevin Morrow, Senior Vice President of Touring at Live Nation, in a statement. “It’s going to be a once in a lifetime event for music fans.”
The fall tour will run from Phoenix, Az September 16 to Brooklyn October 14. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 11 through Live Nation at ticketmaster.com
“The opportunity to partner with Live Nation is a GREAT honor and responsibility,” said Franlin in a statement. “The genre of gospel music having this kind of massive marketing support is monumental, and the talent on this tour makes it a must-see event! I’m very proud of this relationship and I expect it to be a new groundbreaking platform for inspirational entertainment.”

The movie “Think Like a Man” is currently number one at the box office. This movie derived from Steve Harvey’s best selling book, Act Like a Lady Think Like A Man.
The Rainforest producers, Will Packer and Rob Hardy movie did exceptionally well being the higest grossing opening ever. The movie included Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, Taraji Henson, Michael Ely, making the romantic comedy the most anticipated movie of the year.
The film brought in $12 million on Friday, totaling it to 33 million beating out The Hunger Games.

For young people, social media can no longer be dismissed as time wasted or a distraction. Social networks will soon become the core way of life.
- Parents should guide teens through social network privacy settings. Please do not make assumptions. Make informed and considered choices about privacy.
- Be a part of the sign-up process. Be the gatekeeper of their social media.
- Don’t be afraid to ask your child for help on the web. This could be a good way to engage your young person and learn from them.
There will always be a technology and culture divide between parents and children. But with a little extra effort, perhaps it doesn’t always have to be so big.
Social networks are just that, social. An extension of what kids do and say in their “physical” circles. Parents get involved. #2SocialMedia

Kirk Franklin Honored at Rock & Roll (Video)
Grammy award winning artist Kirk Franklin was honored at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame “Rock My Soul” celebration in Cleveland. Franklin was not the only one performing, gospel artist such as Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Olivet Institutional Baptist Church Ensemble, the Mount Zion Oakwood Village Praise Team, Mark T. Jackson and Final Call and Yarbrough & Company.
